Who are the Essential 01 bib tights best for?

Choose the Essential 01 if comfort, warmth and flexibility are your priorities.

They're particularly good if you're new to bib tights, prefer a softer and less compressive feel, carry more weight around your waist or thighs, or simply don't want your winter cycling kit to feel overly restrictive.

Fit & sizing

Bib tights should fit snugly enough to keep the cycling pad securely against your body, but they shouldn't feel uncomfortably restrictive.

There should be no loose or baggy fabric around your thighs, bottom or crotch. If the fabric is flapping or the pad is moving around, they're probably too big.

Because the fabric has a lot of stretch, your height and body shape affect the fit as much as the size label does.

For men's sizing, measure your belly at its widest point as well as your chest. If your belly is larger than your chest, use your belly measurement as your main guide.

If you're taller than around 6'4", you may find sizing up gives you more comfortable body and leg length. Shorter riders, particularly those with slimmer legs, may find sizing down gives a better fit.

When should I wear them?

The 01 Bib Tights are made for cool autumn days, cold winter rides, chilly commutes and early morning spins when shorts aren't giving your legs enough protection.

Pair them with a long sleeve cycling jersey through autumn, then add a gilet or winter cycling jacket as the weather gets colder.
