What's the story?
Hi, I’m Amy and I run Cycle Wear Central.
I am the designer, product developer, customer service department, packing team, occasional social media person and the person at the other end of every email. It's a one-woman business if you hadn't already guessed..
Where it all started
Before CWC, I spent nearly a decade at Fat Lad At The Back.
I joined FLAB at 22 as a designer and buyer, but over the years I became involved in pretty much every part of the business.
I designed a lot of jerseys, worked on product development, spoke to customers, worked at sportives and saw first-hand what people actually needed from their cycling kit.
When FLAB came to an end, it felt silly to let all that knowledge and experience disappear with it. So, with the backing of the FLAB community, I took a punt and set out on life beyond FLAB.
Familiar roots, new chapter
At first, CWC was somewhere people could still find the kit, fit and advice they had relied on before.
Now, a year on, it has grown into its own thing. There are new designs, new ideas, new customers and plenty of opinions on what I should make next.
But the things that mattered at FLAB still matter here.
Detailed sizing. Honest advice. Good-quality kit that actually fits.
The kit is still made in Europe by the same skilled teams who have been making it for years. The tried-and-tested sizing system remains the same too, so if you were a 52 in FLAB, you will be a 52 here.
